SHEIN clinches the top spot in the popularity ranking of American casual women’s wear brands for the 3rd consecutive year

Recently, market consulting firm LEK Consulting released the "2024 LEK Footwear and Apparel Brand Popularity Index," with the well-known fashion brand SHEIN once again securing the top spot as the most popular American casual women's wear brand, maintaining its position at the top for three consecutive years. This also means that for the past three years since the index was launched, SHEIN has consistently been the most popular casual women's wear brand in the United States; in the casual men's wear sector, SHEIN ranks third.

It is understood that LEK Consulting's brand popularity index has entered its third year, based on a survey of nearly 4,000 American consumers aged 14 to 55. Tracking the popularity of men's and women's footwear and apparel brands in different age groups (Generation Z, Millennials, and Generation X) and product categories (athletic, casual, outdoor, and formal), it reveals which brands' "popularity" is increasing.

Although brand preferences for footwear and apparel vary by generation and product category, SHEIN ranks in the top two in popularity among casual women's wear brands for Generation Z, Millennials, and Generation X, surpassing brands like SKIMS, Fashion Nova, Levi's, and ZARA to maintain the top spot for three years in a row as the most popular American casual women's wear brand; in casual men's wear, the SHEIN brand ranks in the top ten in all three age groups, ranking third overall, ahead of brands like Polo Ralph Lauren, UNIQLO, and Dickies.

According to the "2024 Mobile Market Report" released by market analysis agency data.ai, SHEIN once again topped the global shopping app download rankings in 2023, with Temu, Amazon, and Aliexpress ranking second, third, and ninth respectively in 2023 shopping app download volume.

In recent years, China's cross-border e-commerce has maintained rapid growth. In 2023, China's cross-border e-commerce import and export reached 2.38 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.6% compared to the previous year, which was 15.4 percentage points higher than the national import and export growth rate. Among them, exports amounted to 1.83 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%. As of the first two months of 2024, Guangdong, a key hub for China's cross-border e-commerce, saw its cross-border e-commerce import and export reach 155.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 107%, indicating a further acceleration in development.
