According to customs data, the export of spunlace nonwovens in Jan-Feb 2024 increasd by 15% year on year to 59.514kt, just lower than the whole-year volume of 2021. The average price was $2,264/mt, a year-on-year decrease of 7%. The constant decline of export price nearly verified the fact of having orders but facing fierce competition of fabric mills.

In the first two months of 2024, the export volume of spunlace nonwovens to the five major destinations (the Republic of Korea, the United States, Japan, Vietnam, and Brazil) reached 33.851kt, a year-on-year increase of 10%, accounting for 57% of the total export volume. The export to the US and Brazil saw better growth, while that to the Republic of Korea and Japan slightly decreased.

In Jan-Feb, the main origins for spunlace nonwovens (Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Fujian) had an export volume of 51.53kt, a year-on-year increase of 15%, accounting for 87% of the total export volume.

The export of spunlace nonwovens in Jan-Feb is slightly more than expected, but there is fierce competition in the export price, and many fabric mills are around the break-even level. The increment of export volume is mainly contributed by the US, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico and Russia, while the export to the Republic of Korea and Japan has dipped on yearly basis. The major origin of China is still in Zhejiang.
