US re-imposes 25% of additional tariff on some Chinese goods

According to the announcement recently issued by the Office of the United States Trade Representative for China’s second batch of US $ 34 billion in tariff exclusions, the validity period will be extended, and some products will be re-imposed by 25% additional from March 25 this year.

Since July 6, 2018, the United States has imposed a 25% additional tariff on Chinese exports worth approximately $ 34 billion. On March 25, 2019, the Office of the United States Trade Representative announced that some of the above-mentioned goods were temporarily exempted from tariffs for a period of one year. Prior to the expiration of the one-year period, the United States updated its list of temporary exemptions from additional tariffs, of which 11 items have been extended for one year, and 22 items have not been extended, which will be re-imposed 25% additional tariff from March 25. According to the announcement, the products that have been extended the exemption period include diving water filtering machinery, breast pumps, etc. The products that will be subject to tariff raise from March 25 include submersible centrifugal pumps, cast iron impeller casings, and compressor housing designed for turbochargers and so on.
