Cotton crop condition in United States (by Aug 22, 2021)

By the week ending Aug 22, about 97% U.S. cotton crops have been squaring, up 4% from last week, down 3% from a year ago, and down 3% from five-year average, according to USDA. About 79% of the crops is setting bolls, up 4% from previous week, down 8% from a year ago, and down 10% from five-year average. 14% of the crops is bolls opening.

Crop condition is 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 23 percent fair, 53 percent good and 18 percent excellent.
