Apr 2022 China cotton yarn exports slumped by 34.3% on the year

China cotton yarn exports totaled 10.3kt/yr in Apr 2022, compared with 15.7kt in Apr 2021, 7.9kt in Apr 2020 and 26.8kt in Apr 2019.

China cotton yarn exports totaled 10.3kt/yr in Apr 2022, compared with 15.7kt in Apr 2021, 7.9kt in Apr 2020 and 26.8kt in Apr 2019.

The product structure of the exports did not changed much with combed 30.4-46.6S and combed 54.8-66S at the top two place. In Apr, the shares of uncombed 8.2-25S increased a lot.

In terms of the export volume, uncombed 8.2-25S increased 18%, combed 8.2-25S increased 27% and uncombed 25-30.4S moved up by 48%; some other saw decline with combed 35-30.4S down 43% and combed 54.8-66S down 42%.

In terms of export destination, it changes much. Vietnam took up the most shares of 25%, followed by Bangladesh and Pakistan. The export volume to Italy, Cambodia and Thailand increased much, but it was still small.

In conclusion, China cotton yarn export in Apr 2022 slumped on the year, with that of low-count carded cotton yarn rising.
