Brazil still the largest export market of Chinese polyester/rayon yarn

China polyester/rayon yarn exports reached 6,067mt, up 118% on the year and down 4.4% on the month. In Jan-Jun, the exports totaled 29.14kt, up 74.12% from that in the same period of 2021.

Brazil, India and Turkey stayed in the top three in terms of export volume in the first half of 2022. They took up 11,054mt, 5,816mt and 4019mt of the total exports in H1 2022 with shares of 38%, 20% and 14% respectively. Compared with the same period in 2021, the exports to Brazil increased 171.7% on the year and that to India rose 133.4%. Since Oct 2021, Turkey has replaced Vietnam and moved up into the top three.

In terms of the origin, Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang were still in top three of total exports with shares changing little. That is, as major producing areas, they still dominated the export of polyester/rayon yarn. The exports of polyester/rayon yarn from Jiangsu increased 73.06% with a volume of 17.5kt in H1 2022 from that in H1 2021, that from Shandong rose by 52.8% and that from Zhejiang climbed up by 38.3%.

In conclusion, China polyester/rayon yarn export volume continued to see a great increase of 74.12% on the year. In the first half year, the monthly exports were all higher than that in the same period of 2021, indicating more demand outside China, especially that in Brazil. The trend may sustain to the second half of 2022, and by the end of 2022, the exports in the whole year will be much more than that in 2021.
