China exports 152.917kt of rayon yarn in 2022, up 3.28% y-o-y after witnessing a y-o-y decline in 2021, but still lower than the volume of 2020. Among them, the export of single yarn and ply yarn respectively increased by 0.71% and 22.66% y-o-y to 131.642kt and 21.275kt. The export of ply yarn saw notable growth in the past three years, but still failing to exceed that in 2018.

Rayon yarn exported to five destinations (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Vietnam) in 2022 amounts to 133.385kt, and the performance among the countries is divided. The export to Brazil, Vietnam and Pakistan respectively falls by 11%, 6% and 51% y-o-y, while that to India and Bangladesh respectively grows by around 10%, and the increase for the latter is mainly contributed by ply yarn.

Rayon yarn exported from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang and Sichuan totals 145.795kt in 2022, up 3% y-o-y. The export from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Sichuan respectively drops by 2%, 3% and 8%, while that from Fujian and Xinjiang respectively rises by 28% and 7% on yearly basis.

The export of rayon yarn grows slightly in 2022 and the increment mainly depends on ply yarn, while the volume of single yarn almost keeps flat. Among the destinations, there is divided performance in the top few regions as the export to India rises again, while that to Brazil keeps shrinking. As for origins, the export from Jiangsu continues to take the leading position, though the volume has decreased. The volume of other areas changes little, except for notable growth in Fujian.
