Sichuan Yongying New Material's 300kt/year BDO project scores new achievement

On April 17, 2023，the Sichuan Yongying New Material Project advanced, taking only 78 days from signing the contract to starting construction, breaking the pace of major projects in Nanchong, Sichuan Daily reported on April 17. At present, the first phase of the project has completed the construction of most of the supporting public works and auxiliary production facilities.

Yongying New Material's 800kt/year functional new materials integrated industrial chain project is located in Nanchong Economic Development District Industrial Park. The planned land of the project covers an area of about 5000 mu and is divided into two phases of construction, with a total investment of about 33 billion yuan. The construction started smoothly on June 30, 2022, and the investment quota of 3.5 billion yuan has been completed. The investment reached 900 million yuan in the first quarter of 2023.

The project revolves around green chemical products and uses natural gas as raw materials to produce 1,4-butanediol (BDO for short). The project will build a total of 600kt/year of BDO, 500kt/year of PBAT and 300kt/year of spandex, which will be implemented in three phases: the first phase of 300kt/year BDO, 60kt/year PBAT and 60kt/year PTMEG production scale; the second phase of 300kt/year BDO production scale; the third phase of the project with the first and second phase production of BDO as raw materials, extending downstream, the construction of the remaining PBAT plant, PTMEG plant and spandex plant.
