After experiencing the extreme weather in early May and late May, the temperature in Xinjiang started to recover quickly from Jun, and cotton crops developed well. The planting progress in Kuqa, where the crops have been damaged, has recovered soon, but in Korla, the planting progress remains slow obviously. In mid-Jul, the temperature was high again in Xinjiang, arousing the concerns over the cotton production again. Nevertheless, the temperature reduced slightly recently. Pay attention to the weather condition later.

For the growing progress, Kashgar, Bachu, and Aksu were progressing well and relatively fast, while the Korla in South Xinjiang has the slowest growth progress. This region is also one of the most severely affected areas in South Xinjiang this year. Additionally, in mid-July, there was a noticeable slowdown in the planting progress in the Wusu area, which might be related to the high temperatures in North Xinjiang.

Looking at the average temperature in South and North Xinjiang, there was a temporary decrease in temperatures in the first half of Jul in both regions. During this period, the temperatures in Xinjiang were relatively low compared to the same period in previous years. However, in mid-July, the temperatures were significantly higher than the historical averages for the same period. It is important to monitor the temperature changes in Xinjiang in the later period.

Overall, in mid-Jul, both South and North Xinjiang experienced high temperatures. The growth progress in North Xinjiang, such as Wusu, was affected, while the growth progress in the heavily affected Kuqa region in South Xinjiang accelerated. However, the Korla region still showed a noticeable slowdown. The growth progress in Kashgar region was good. It is important to continue monitoring the weather conditions in Xinjiang in the later period.
