Sateri (Nantong) successfully starts up 110kt/yr lyocell line

On Aug 17, 2023, Phase I of the 110kt/yr new solvent-based lyocell project of Sateri (Nantong) Fibre Co., Ltd. was officially put into operation. At 11:30 a.m., as the spinning machines started running, white cotton-like fibers fell and the first batch of high-quality Sateri Lyocell fiber products were successfully packaged, marking the start of official production. This is Sateri's third lyocell production base following Rizhao in Shandong Province and Liyang in Jiangsu Province. Sateri's lyocell capacity has reached 250kt/yr.

Liu Tao, Vice President of Sateri expressed in his speech, "As an environmentally friendly and policy-driven lyocell fiber, the market demand has been strong in recent years, and its development momentum is good. As a global leading producer of cellulose fibers, Sateri Lyocell has excellent product quality and stable supply, which has a profound impact on promoting the formation of a green, low-carbon production and lifestyle. The successful operation of the 110kt/yr lyocell line in Nantong is of great significance. It not only further establishes the Group's strategic direction in the layout of green fiber lyocell but also provides solid supply guarantee for the entire industry, helping the textile industry move towards a greener and higher-quality direction."

Sateri Lyocell fibers are sourced from internationally certified plantations. With its independently developed pulp manufacturing technology and advanced fiber production technology, it effectively reduces the environmental impact of the production process while achieving superior fiber performance: high strength in both dry and wet conditions, low defect rate, small fluctuations in various indicators, and high uniformity. Sateri Lyocell fibers have been widely used in textiles and non-woven products. Since the first lyocell plant was put into operation in Rizhao in 2020, after three years of technological accumulation and experience in market applications, Sateri Lyocell fibers have significantly improved in terms of quality, usability, and application areas.

With the increasing market demand for green fiber products, Sateri will continue to uphold the model of industry-wide collaboration and partnership, and expand downstream applications of lyocell fibers, creating a full range of products for all seasons.
