Heavy metals are a class of non-degradable, persistent substances in the environment that can be biomagnified. Heavy metals commonly found in water include copper, zinc, nickel, and lead, chromium, mercury, arsenic, etc. with significant toxicity. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop efficient and low-cost heavy metal pollution treatment technologies to reduce the damage of heavy metals to ecology and humans.
