Peru launches anti-circumvention investigation on anti-dumping case of polyester fabric against China

On November 11, 2023, the Committee on dumping, subsidies and non-tariff Trade barriers of the Peruvian National Competition and Intellectual property Protection Agency issued notice No. 100-2023/CDB-INDECOPI in the official daily Peruvian newspaper El Peruano, responding to the Peruvian enterprise Tecnologa Textil S.A. To launch an anti-circumvention investigation into 100% polyester fabrics originating in China to examine whether the products originating in China were exported to Peru via Malaysia, and to increase the width of the products from 1.80m to 2.00m in order to evade the anti-dumping duties set out in notice No. 006-2023/CDB-INDECOPI. The investigation period of this case is from January 2018 to September 2023. The announcement shall take effect as of the date of promulgation.
