CCA cotton production, harvest and sales survey in September, 2025

According to China Cotton Association's investigation over 1908 growers and 10 major cotton belts in September 2025, the cotton planting areas are likely to be 44.823 million mu nationwide, up 1.8% year on year, and production may be 7.278 million tons, up 9.2% year on year. Production in Xinjiang is projected at 6.972 million tons, up 10.1% year on year, that in Yellow River at 166,000 tons, down 6.5% year on year and that in Yangtze River at 84,000 tons, down 21.3% year on year.

By September 30, national cotton harvest progress reached 5.1%, up 0.4 percentage point year on year and sales progress was 1.8%, up 0.3 percentage point year on year. Selling prices of seed cotton by growers were averaged at 6.3yuan/kg, down 4.1% year on year.
