Polyester cord fabric import and export sustain diversified in Jan-Sep, 2025

According to the data from China customs, import of cord fabric made from high-tenacity polyester yarn (hereinafter referred to as polyester cord fabric) was at 2336 tons in Jan-Sep, 2025, a year-on-year decrease of 41%, and export of polyester cord fabric was at 142672 tons, up near 15.8% on annual basis. The net exports amounted to 140336 tons, up by 17.7% on annual basis.

Polyester cord fabric is still a net exported product in China.

Monthly exports of polyester cord fabrics averaged at 15852 tons in Jan-Sep, 2025, hitting the yearly high in 18084 tons in May year to date. Imports of polyester cord fabrics hit the lowest level in Feb at 201 tons since last year and kicked the year-to-date high in Jul at 395 tons, decreased to 202 tons in Aug but recovered to 285 in Sep.

Among the export destinations, in Jan-Sep, 2025, Thailand kept the largest export destination, accounting for around 25.4%, followed by Japan and South Korea, taking up around 8.10% and 6.69% respectively. China's polyester cord fabrics were still mostly exported to Asia.

As for the YOY change of absolute export volume, export to the most major markets mostly increased on the year, and the increment of exports to Thailand kept the largest.

In summary, the export of polyester cord fabrics moved up on the year in Jan-Sep, 2025 but the import extended lower on annual basis, and the major export destinations held largely steady.
