However, affected by adverse factors such as continuous rainfall, the overall progress lags behind that of last year, and the price of seed cotton sold by farmers has slightly decreased compared with September.

In Yangtze River Basin, as of October 15, the harvest progress reached 61.3%, 5.6 percentage points slower year-on-year; The sales progress stood at 28.3%, 6.7 percentage points slower year-on-year; The average sales price of seed cotton by farmers was 5.8 yuan/kg, down 7.8% year-on-year and 1% month-on-month.

In Yellow River Basin, as of October 15, the harvest progress was 70.5%, 10.5 percentage points slower year-on-year; The sales progress was 13.6%, 3.5 percentage points faster year-on-year; The average sales price was 7.1 yuan/kg, up 4.3% year-on-year and unchanged month-on-month.

In Gansu Province, as of October 15, the harvest progress was 41.9%, 51.8 percentage points slower year-on-year, and local farmers have not yet started selling seed cotton.
