According to customs data, rayon yarn export of China in Oct slipped for four months to 7.294kt, posting a month-on-month decrease of 19% and year-on-year increase of 13%. Among this, the export volume of single yarn was 5.782kt, down 21% both on monthly and yearly basis, and that of ply yarn was 1.512kt, down 7% m-o-m but up 35% y-o-y. In Jan-Oct of 2025, the total exports increased by 27% y-o-y to 100.828kt.

In Oct, rayon yarn export to the five major countries (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Vietnam) amounted to 65.44kt, a m-o-m and y-o-y decrease of 20%, taking up 75% of the total exports. The export to India further dropped to 945 tons with the end of restocking wave from India in May.

The main export regions for rayon yarn (Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Sichuan) saw an export volume of 6.559kt in Oct, down 20% both on monthly and yearly basis, taking up 90% of the total exports.

The export volume of rayon yarn has declined for four consecutive months, which is just above 7kt in Oct, remaining at a relatively low level. Demand from the five major export destinations has been weak, especially in India. Currently, India shows little interest in the prevailing yarn prices. However, if prices fall to a level with better cost-performance ratio, export volume is expected to expand.
