VFY export of China posts a 21% y-o-y growth in Jan-Oct

According to customs data, VFY (H.S. code: 54033190) export of China dropped by 5.94% month on month but grew by 7% year on year to 8.536kt. In the first ten months of 2025, the exports amount to 92.258kt, rising by 20.71% on yearly basis. The average export volume in Jan-Oct this year is 9,226 tons, which is 20.7% higher than 7,643 tons in the same period of 2024.

The export price of VFY in Oct has slipped by 1.65% m-o-m to $5,189/mt. In the first ten months of 2025, the average export price is $5,186/mt, which is 3.1% lower than $5,352/mt in the same period of 2024.

India, Pakistan and Turkey continue to take the leading positions in China's VFY export, accounting for 90% of total in Oct this year. As for origins, Henan and Jilin are still major origins, taking up majority of the total volume.

Except for an increase in export to India and Turkey that is 23.5% and 5.9% compared to Oct of 2024, the export to other major destinations like Pakistan, South Korea, Indonesia and Italy has generally posted a y-o-y decline, with a reduction from 2% to 63%, especially a notable decrease for Italy that only imported 94kt of VFY from China in Oct this year. As for the major origins, the export from Sichuan saw a notable decrease of 37%, and that from Jilin and Zhejiang increased by 22% and 62% respectively, but the volume for the latter is just above 110 tons in Oct.

The economic and population growth in major consumer markets like India and Pakistan, along with the upgrading and expansion of textile machinery driven by the development of downstream industries, have boosted local demand for VFY. Based on export data from Jan to Oct 2025, the annual export volume of VFY is expected to exceed 110kt.
