Saehan was established in 1972 with the capital and technology of Cheil Synthetic Inc., which was an affiliated company of Samsung. Since then, Saehan has been a leading company in the domestic synthetic and chemical fiber industry for more than 3 decades. Saehan specifically focused its resources in manufacturing high valued added products. Saehan has imported collective manufacturing systems, which connected the textile business unit from the Gyungsan plant with the polyester staple fiber (PSF) processing line from the Gumi plant. Moreover, Saehan successfully developed reverse osmosis membranes in early 1990s for the first time in Korea. Since then, we have expanded our business scope in the filter industry by developing water purifying filters, micro filters, reverse osmosis membranes for sea water desalination, and fouling resistant reverse osmosis membranes. Furthermore, Saehan is directing its resources and management strategies toward developing Environment & Material Business, thereby allowing Saehan to be equipped with facilities which produce industrial sheets. Saehan received the World Best Product Award from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy for its polyester flame-retardant fabric and high bulky polyester staple fiber in 2002. Saehan again received this award in 2003 for its suede stretch fabric and fouling resistant reverse osmosis membrane. Also in the New Tech Korea 2002, Saehan? high rejection reverse osmosis membrane for sea water desalination received the Prime Minister medal. Saehan has manifested the capability to develop the latest technology with unique features.
