Meta Aramid(1313 aramid), exhibits numerous excellent properties such as good Thermal stability, Flame resistance, Electrical insulation, high dielectric strength, Good mechanical properties, The chemical stability, The radiation resistance etc.

In industry, the insulation material for heavy load power generators(700v),motors running under high voltage, high temperature and vibrating environment, dry and liquid transformers,nuclear power equipment are just some examples. Even in a printed board, the material can be used for high density layer to add its softness.

Its significant effects can be seen from such an examples: an E grade electrical motor can only work under a temperature less than 120'c with limited life time. If meta aramid sheets and its polyester and polymer compounds are used for insulation material, the insulation grade of the same motor can rise from E grade to F and H grade. Heat resistance for F grade motor is over 150'c and H grade, 180'c. Life time is also longer. An E grade motor in a mine pit for instance, may only run for 2 to 3 months while a F to H grade motor can safely run 2 to 3 years and even longer; a F grade aganist E grade weighs 14% less, saving 10% copper and 17% silicon steel. A rise of working temperature up to 220'c may easily raise the unit weight up to 1.5 times. That is why meta aramid is a revolutionary material for a motor of new generation.
