Cotton crop condition in United States (by Aug 1, 2021)

By the week ending Aug 1, about 82% U.S. cotton crops have been squaring, up 4% from last week, down 8% from a year ago, and down 8% from five-year average, according to USDA. About 50% of the crops is setting bolls, up 13% from previous week, down 2% from a year ago, and down 3% from five-year average.

Crop condition is 1 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 49 percent good and 11 percent excellent.
