Cotton crop condition in United States (by Aug 8, 2021)

By the week ending Aug 8, about 88% U.S. cotton crops have been squaring, up 6% from last week, down 7% from a year ago, and down 7% from five-year average, according to USDA. About 63% of the crops is setting bolls, up 13% from previous week, down 6% from a year ago, and down 5% from five-year average. 5% of the crops is bolls opening.

Crop condition is 1 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 48 percent good and 17 percent excellent.
