Indian textile and apparel exports grew by 30.43% in Dec 2021
India' s total textile and clothing exports grew by 30.43 percent to $3.84 billion in December 2021, from $2.94 billion in December 2020.
As per a report by Business of Fashion, exports of cotton yarn, fabrics and handloom products increased by 66 per cent to reach $11.29 billion during the period between April to December 2021 against the export of $6.8 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
However, the rise in exports from the sector slowed in December 2021, according to data from India' s ministry of commerce and industry. Cotton textile exports in December 2021 increased by 46.19 per cent to $ 1.44 billion over the $987.76 million exports in December 2020, as per government data. Apparel exports also grew by 35.62 per cent to $11.12 billion from April to December 2021.
Growth in apparel exports also slowed in December 2021, rising by 22.63 percent to $1.47 billion over $1.2 billion in the same month of 2020.
