Eye-catching performance of rayon single yarn export to Bangladesh in Q1 2022

Rayon yarn export of China amounts to 51.294kt in the first quarter of 2022, up 2.18% year on year, including 32.748kt of single yarn (down 14.79% y-o-y) and 7.794kt of ply yarn (up 59.1% y-o-y). The export of pure spun yarn (single yarn and ply yarn) takes up around 79% of total rayon yarn export and that of blended rayon yarn totals 10.753kt, up 56.54% y-o-y.

In the first quarter of 2022, rayon single yarn exported to Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Vietnam totals 27.927kt, down 21% y-o-y, occupying 85% of single yarn exports. Among the five destinations, the export to Bangladesh keeps growing to set a record high in Mar. Moreover, the cumulative export of Jan-Mar exceeds that of Brazil for the first time. In the first quarter of 2022, the export to Bangladesh and Brazil is respectively 6.27kt and 5.469kt, but India still takes the leading position.

Rayon single yarn exported from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang and Sichuan amounts to 31.355kt in the first quarter of 2022, down 15% y-o-y, taking up 96% of total single yarn exports. The share of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Sichuan fluctuates in narrow range, while that of Fujian and Xinjiang witnesses larger volatility. The export from Xinjiang advances much in Mar.

In the first quarter of 2022, rayon yarn export of China slightly increases year on year. The export of pure spun yarn drops, while that of blended yarn climbs up. The export of single yarn to Brazil has been low, while Bangladesh overtakes Brazil to rank the second place. In terms of single yarn origins, the share of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Sichuan is relatively steady on monthly basis, while that of Fujian and Xinjiang fluctuates much.
