Xinjiang Markor's Phase V 100kt/year BDO project starts construction
On the morning of May 30th, the groundbreaking ceremony of the fifth phase of the 100kt/year BDO project of Zhongtai Group Xinjiang Markor Chemical Co., Ltd. was held in Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone. It marked the further release of the superior capacity of BDO in Xinjiang Zhongtai Group, continues to occupy the commanding height of scale and technology, and has become an important part of the strategic layout of the petrochemical industry of Zhongtai Group.
The fifth phase of 100kt/year BDO project of Zhongtai Group Xinjiang Markor Chemical Co., Ltd. includes 100kt/year of BDO, 240kt/year of formaldehyde and 25kt/year of calcium carbide acetylene capacity expansion and transformation, as well as supporting utilities and auxiliary facilities. The project covers an area of about 400mu with a total investment of 2.6 billion yuan. After the completion of the project, it is estimated that the annual net profit will be more than 340 million yuan, the annual tax payment will be more than 160 million yuan, and more than 260 direct jobs will be created.
Xinjiang Markor Chemical Co., Ltd. is the largest BDO producer in China. At present, the fourth phase of the BDO project with an annual output of 100kt is speeding up construction and is scheduled to be completed on July 30th and put into production by the end of October this year.
Xinjiang Markor Chemical Co., Ltd. approved the filing and approval of the 2 × 300kt/year BDO project, which uses natural gas route alkyne aldehyde process to prepare BDO. The total investment of the project is 14.34022 billion yuan (4.5895558 billion yuan for the first phase), of which 590 million yuan is invested in environmental protection, accounting for 3.61% of the total investment in the project. In the 2 × 300kt/year BDO project of Markor Chemical Industry, acetylene is prepared by partial oxidation of natural gas, methanol is prepared by desulphurization and hydrogenation from by-product of acetylene plant, and then formaldehyde is prepared by iron-molybdenum catalytic oxidation method, and then acetylene and formaldehyde are used as raw materials to prepare 1.4-butanediol. The construction site is located in Korla Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry Park, Bayingol Mongolia Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region. The project is divided into two phases, each with an annual output of 300kt of BDO.
