Rayon yarn export of China slips for three consecutive months
According to customs data, rayon yarn export of China in Sep slipped for three consecutive months to 8.975kt, posting a month-on-month decrease of 24% but year-on-year increase of 14%. Among this, the export volume of single yarn was 7.341kt, down 26% m-o-m but up 14% y-o-y, and that of ply yarn was 1.634kt, down 13% m-o-m but up 14% y-o-y. In Jan-Sep of 2025, the total exports increased by 32% y-o-y to 93.534kt.
In Sep, rayon yarn export to the five major countries (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Vietnam) amounted to 6.799kt, a m-o-m decrease of 27% but y-o-y increase of 22%, taking up 76% of the total exports. The export to India further dropped to 2.194kt, down 46% m-o-m but up 774% y-o-y.
The main export regions for rayon yarn (Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Sichuan) saw an export volume of 8.496kt in Sep, a m-o-m decrease of 22% but a year-on-year increase of 19%, taking up 95% of the total exports.
The export of rayon yarn keeps falling in Sep, with the volume slipping for three consecutive months after the concentrated procurement from India has ended, and no ideas about a large amount of imports have been heard from India. The export of rayon yarn is expected to be dull in the fourth quarter.
