Philippine manufacturing PPI sees faster YoY rise of 1% in Sep 2025
The producer price index (PPI) for the manufacturing sector in the Philippines posted a faster year-on-year (YoY) increase of 1 per cent in September this year from a 0.6-per cent YoY in August, according the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
In September 2024, the manufacturing PPI saw a YoY decrease of 1.4 per cent.
The higher annual growth in September was primarily due to the upturn in the YoY growth rate of the PPI for manufacture of transport equipment—at 1.6 per cent from a 0.2-per cent YoY drop in August.
The manufacture of transport equipment contributed 35.6 per cent to the uptrend in the annual growth rate of PPI for manufacturing in the month, a PSA release said.
Among the 22 industry divisions for manufacturing, manufacture of transport equipment has the third-highest weight in the computation of PPI.
The manufacturing PPI saw a faster month-on-month (MoM) increase of 0.223 per cent in September 2025 from 0.219 per cent in August. The PPI for manufacturing posted a 0.1-per cent MoM decrease in September 2024.
