Sichuan Yongying's 300kt/year BDO, Phase I A-line to start operation in end-2023

On August 19, 2023, the integrated industrial chain project for functional new materials with an annual output of 800kt, located in Sichuan Yongying in the Economic Development Zone of Nanchong, is currently under intense construction. According to the project construction schedule, the line A of the phase I project will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023.

It is understood that Phase One of the Yongying project covers an area of 1,400 acres, with a planned total investment of 10.4 billion yuan. Up to now, a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan has been completed. After the project is completed, the annual output value is expected to reach 24 billion yuan, with an annual tax revenue of 3.7 billion yuan, and it will provide 5,000 job opportunities. This project focuses on the production of green chemical products, using natural gas as raw material to produce 1,4-butanediol (BDO). The project will have a 600kt/year of BDO, 500kt/year of PBAT, and 300k/year of spandex, which will be implemented in three phases. The first phase includes a production scale of 300kt/year of BDO, 60kt/year of PBAT, and 60kt/year of PTMEG. The second phase will have a production scale of 300kt/year of BDO. The third phase will extend downstream from the first and second phases, using the BDO produced as raw material, and construct the remaining PBAT, PTMEG, and spandex facilities.
