Rayon single yarn export of Fujian hits 15-month high in Aug

According to customs data, rayon yarn export of China reached 16.071kt in Aug 2023, with a month-on-month increase of 13% and a year-on-year increase of 62%. Among them, the export of single yarn was 14.567kt, with a year-on-year increase of 71% and a month-on-month growth of 15%. The export of ply yarn was 1.504kt, with a year-on-year increase of 9% but a month-on-month decrease of 2%. The year-on-year decline of export volume has obviously narrowed after warming up for consecutive three months from Jun to Aug.

In Aug 2023, the export of rayon single yarn to the five major countries (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Vietnam) was 13.456kt, with a year-on-year increase of 78%, accounting for 92% of the total export volume of single yarn, hitting new highs within the year. The export to India gained notable growth during the month.

The main destinations of rayon single yarn in Aug 2023 were Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Sichuan, with an export volume of 13.03kt, a year-on-year increase of 58%, accounting for 89% of the total export volume of single yarn. The export of Fujian continued to be higher than expected by hitting 15-month high.

The export of rayon yarn in Jun-Jun continued to be good, especially better performance of that to India and Brazil. There has been better buying interest by Indian buyers when the yarn price is relatively low, and the export volume of rayon yarn in Sep is still expected to show good appearance.
