100kt/year of BDO waste liquid reused to produce 35kt/year of THF and 100kt/year of NMP in Inner Mongolia

On November 13, 2023, at the site of Inner Mongolia Jiete Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd.'s annual production of 100,000 tons of waste liquid resource utilization, 1,4-butanediol (BDO) production for 35,000 tons of tetrahydrofuran (THF), and annual production of 100,000 tons of N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) project in Uda Industrial Park, Wuhai High-tech Industry Development Zone, cranes were performing lifting operations. On the roof of the spare parts and hazardous waste storage, construction workers were installing waterproof and insulation panels.

Inner Mongolia Jiete Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was established in February 2023, as a joint venture between Inner Mongolia Jiete Technology Co., Ltd. and Inner Mongolia Dongjing Bio-Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. The total investment of the project, which produces 35,000 tons of THF and 100,000 tons of NMP through the annual production of 100,000 tons of BDO waste liquid resource utilization, is approximately 748 million yuan. The project includes a THF production unit, an NMP production unit, and public auxiliary facilities. After completion, it is expected to achieve annual sales revenue of approximately 700 million yuan and a total annual profit and tax of approximately 70 million yuan and can provide employment opportunities for over 100 people.

It is understood that the project has completed construction investment of about 67 million yuan. The main structures of the substation, central control room, laboratory, spare parts and hazardous waste storage, air compressor station, and circulating water pool have been completed. The production of six raw material tanks has been completed, and the construction of the foundation for the finished product tank area has been completed. The THF workshop has completed the raft slab foundation pouring, and the NMP workshop design has been completed by approximately 85%, with construction planned to begin in March 2024. "Currently, the project's civil engineering is about 65% complete, and equipment procurement is about 63% complete. According to the construction plan, we will install the equipment in the winter. It is expected that the THF production unit will undergo single machine commissioning in late-Apr, 2024, and trial production will begin in late-Jun," said Zhang Wenhuan, the company's general manager.
