Rayon yarn export of China falls again in Oct after a substantial increase for four consecutive months

According to customs data, rayon yarn export of China reached 9.053kt in Oct 2023, with a month-on-month reduction of 44% and a year-on-year increase of 30%. Among them, the export of single yarn was 7.569kt, with a year-on-year increase of 28% but a month-on-month decrease of 48%. The export of ply yarn was 1.484kt, with a year-on-year increase of 46% and a month-on-month decrease of 16%. The export volume in Oct declined notably after a large number of yarns were exported for four months.

In Oct 2023, the export of rayon single yarn to the five major countries (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Vietnam) was 6.563kt, with a month-on-month decrease of 51% and a year-on-year increase of 44%, accounting for 87% of the total export volume of single yarn. The export to Brazil and India generally saw notable reduction.

The main origins of rayon single yarn in Oct 2023 were Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Sichuan, with an export volume of 6.689kt, a month-on-month decline of 48% and a year-on-year increase of 20%, accounting for 88% of the total export volume of single yarn.

The export volume of rayon yarn in Oct falls obviously, which is not expected to perform well in Nov or Dec. The yarn mills will be under pressure in terms of exports and sales in Chinese domestic market.
