Currently, the sowing progress in many regions was earlier than the same period of last year, but the progress in Kuqa and Korla was lagging behind. Overall, the planting weather in Xinjiang was good in the first half of April, but there are expected temperature drops and strong winds at the end of the month. In terms of average temperatures in South and North Xinjiang, the average temperatures in the first half of April were higher than last year, and the overall weather performance was good. However, attention should be paid to the possibility of low temperatures in late April and early May, but crops can be re-planted in early period, and the actual impact may be minimal.

In terms of average sunshine hours, the overall situation in South Xinjiang was better than last year in the first half of April, but there was a slight drop in sunlight in mid-April. The overall sunlight conditions in North Xinjiang were slightly worse than last year.

Overall, as of mid-April 2024, the weather in Xinjiang is relatively good, with the overall cotton planting progress smooth. The planting and growth progress in many cotton-growing regions is ahead of last year, but the planting in Kuqa and Korla remains slow. It is important to monitor the weather conditions at the end of April and the beginning of May, as there may be temporary temperature drops and strong winds. However, there is still room for re-planting in the early stages, and the short-term impact may be minimal.
