China's retail sales of textiles and garments drop in Apr, 2024

China's retail sales value of consumer goods totaled 3.5699 trillion Yuan in Apr 2024, up 5.3% year on year. In Jan-Apr 2024, the cumulative retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 15.6026 trillion Yuan, up 4.1% year on year.

In April 2024, the retail value of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size was 104.83 billion yuan, down 2% year on year. In Jan-Apr, the cumulative retail sales of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size totaled 471.69 billion yuan, up 1.5% year-on-year.

In April 2024, the retail value of apparel goods above designated size was 75.33 billion yuan, down 3% year-on-year. From January to April, the cumulative retail value of apparel was 346.87 billion yuan, up by 1% year-on-year.
