China's textile exports to Cambodia increase by 17.7% in Q1 2025
China has been Cambodia's largest trading partner for consecutive years. The simultaneous implementation of the China-Cambodia Free Trade Agreement and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has propelled bilateral trade to a new level. According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2025, China's total import and export value with Cambodia was 33.33 billion yuan, maintaining growth for six consecutive quarters-with a year-on-year increase of 13.1%. This growth outpaced the overall ASEAN growth rate by 6 percentage points, reaching a record high for the same period. Specifically, exports to Cambodia increased by 14.3%, and imports from Cambodia grew by 5%.
Deep cooperation in the textile and apparel industry continues. In the first quarter, China's textile and exports to Cambodia totaled 10.14 billion yuan, up 17.7%, marking seven consecutive quarters of growth. This accounted for 34.3% of China's total exports to Cambodia during the period. Additionally, imports of clothing and accessories from Cambodia reached 790 million yuan, with a growth of 5.2%.
Cambodia is the first country to sign a joint action plan for building a community of shared future with China. The two countries share a long-standing tradition of friendship. As Sino-Cambodian economic and trade cooperation continues to deepen, the prospects for bilateral trade development are broad and promising.
