ICE cotton rises first and then declines

ICE cotton futures market rose first stimulated by the development of Sino-US trade talks, but later, it declined. Contract of Jul closed at 66.63cent/lb, up 0.09cent/lb and contract of Dec closed at 68.85cent/lb, up 0.17cent/lb. According to USDA's May supply and demand report, 2025/26 U.S. cotton sowing areas are expected to reduce, but harvest areas may increase, and consumption growth is lower than anticipated.
Cotlook A Index remained unchanged at 78.25cent/lb.
