On May 27, the government of Xinhe County, Xinjiang officially signed an investment agreement with Xinjiang Investment & Development (Group) Co., Ltd. for a cotton spinning project with a capacity of 500,000 spindles.

The total investment of the project is 1.75 billion yuan, with a planned land area of 620 mu. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2025 and be completed and put into operation by November 2026. The project will include the construction of 250,000 square meters of standardized factory buildings and the installation of 500,000 spindles of internationally advanced ring-spinning equipment and intelligent production lines. Once in operation, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 1.8 billion yuan, while also directly creating over 1,750 jobs.

Xinhe County is a national high-quality cotton production base, with nearly one million mu of cotton planting area and an annual lint cotton output of over 150,000 tons. It also hosts the only 500,000-ton cotton futures delivery warehouse in the Aksu region, giving it a resource advantage to support a spinning capacity of one million spindles. In addition, its strategic location as a transportation hub connecting southern and northern Xinjiang and its abundant labor force provide strong potential for the development of the textile and garment industry.

The signing of this project will accelerate the upgrading of the local cotton textile industry, promote coordinated development of upstream and downstream sectors, and further drive the high-quality economic development of Xinhe County.
