China's retail sales of textiles and garments increase y-o-y in May, 2025

China's retail sales value of consumer goods totaled 4.1326 trillion Yuan in May 2025, up 6.4% year on year. In Jan-May 2025, the cumulative retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 20.3171 trillion Yuan, up 5.0% year on year.

In May 2025, the retail value of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size was 122.54 billion yuan, up 4.0% year on year. In Jan-May, the cumulative retail sales of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size totaled 613.84 billion yuan, up 3.3% year-on-year.

In May 2025, the retail value of apparel goods above designated size was 85.76 billion yuan, up 3.5% year-on-year. From January to May, the cumulative retail value of apparel was 443.54 billion yuan, up by 2.6% year-on-year.
