Two large-scale cotton spinning projects, totaling 900,000 spindles, were officially signed and launched in Shufu County and Makit County, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of Xinjiang's textile industry.

In Shufu County, the local government signed a cooperation agreement with Tianshu Textile Co., Ltd. from Yicheng City, Hubei Province, to build a 200,000-spindle compact siro-spinning project. With a total investment of 800 million yuan, the project will be constructed in two phases and focus on producing high-end combed compact siro-spun pure cotton yarns. Once fully operational, it is expected to provide approximately 600 jobs.

On the same day, a 700,000-spindle cotton spinning project broke ground at the Makit County Textile Industrial Park, located in the southern urban area. This project includes three textile mills and one supporting infrastructure project, with a total construction area of 213,000 square meters and a 110kV substation to support operations.

Led by Jintuo Textile Technology Co., Ltd., which specializes in combed compact pure cotton yarns, the new facilities represent an investment of 400 million yuan in advanced equipment and are expected to create 500–600 jobs.

In recent years, Makit County has focused on developing a vertically integrated textile industry centered in its southern industrial park, anchored by Litai Silk Road, a leading enterprise. The region now hosts a full industry chain encompassing spinning, weaving, knitting, and garment manufacturing, with a strategy to extend, strengthen, and upgrade the value chain.

Upon completion, the new 700,000-spindle project is expected to significantly boost the spinning capacity of Makit's textile park, increase total industrial output by 1.2 billion yuan, add 116 million yuan in industrial value, and generate over 1,500 jobs. The project is seen as a key step in driving industrial upgrading and fostering synergy across the textile supply chain in southern Xinjiang.
