In the first half of 2025, Cambodia's manufacturing sector witnessed significant growth, with both garment and non-garment units increasing notably. During this period, 116 new garment factories were established, raising the total number of garment factories from 1,566 at the end of 2024 to 1,682. Over the same period, the country exported garments, footwear, and travel goods (GFT) valued at USD 7.38 billion, representing a 22% YoY increase. Among these, garments accounted for USD 5.283 billion, also up by 22% YoY.

According to domestic media reports, the import value of raw materials used in the garment industry in H1 2025 hit USD 3.489 billion, a 21.43% YoY growth. Citing The Khmer Times, between August 2023 and June 2025 (a 22-month period), the number of factories and enterprises in Cambodia increased by 5,356, rising from 40,300 to 45,656, a growth rate of 13.29%.

Based on a report released by Cambodia's Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MLVT), the number of factories and enterprises in the country has increased by over 5,000 in less than two years, with a growth rate exceeding 13%. This growth reflects investors' trust in the Cambodian government and is also attributed to the government's sound policies and the active contributions of relevant institutions.

The report shows that the number of garment-sector enterprises rose from 1,466 to 1,682, an increase of 216 (or 14.73%); non-garment enterprises increased from 38,834 to 43,974, a rise of 5,140 (or 13.24%). In H1 2025 alone, the number of enterprises registered with the Ministry increased by 858 compared to the same period in 2024 (when the figure was 44,798).
