Spunlace nonwovens export price in Jul falls to the second lowest level in history
According to customs data, spunlace non-woven fabric export of China reached 37.68kt in Jul 2025, representing a 9% year-on-year increase and a 3% month-on-month increase. The average export price was $2,155/mt (a second-lowest level in history), falling by 2% YoY and 6% MoM. Cumulative exports from Jan to Jul totaled 257.746kt, up 12% YoY.
The exports to the top five destinations (South Korea, U.S., Japan, Vietnam, and Brazil) totaled 17.573kt in Jul, down 2% YoY and largely flat MoM, accounting for 47% of total exports. The export to South Korea slightly increased MoM, and that to the U.S and Japan dropped slightly, while the export to Brazil declined notably.
Major origins (Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Fujian) contributed 32.188kt, up 13% YoY and 7% MoM, representing 85% of total exports.
In Jul, the export of spunlace non-woven fabric saw a slight month-on-month rebound, but the overall performance remained relatively sluggish. The average export price stayed at the second-lowest level in history. Moreover, against the backdrop of the continuous appreciation of the RMB, Chinese fabric mills are facing considerable pressure in foreign exchange settlement. However, the sustained procurement from the U.S. has still provided some confidence to Chinese fabric mills.
