Turkey issues announcement on the upcoming expiry of anti-dumping measures on polyester yarn originating from China

On July 16, 2025, Turkey's Ministry of Trade issued Announcement No. 2025/15, stating that the anti-dumping measures on polyester yarn (Turkish: poliesterlerden tekstüre iplikler) originating from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam will expire on February 3, 2026. Stakeholders should submit applications and supporting evidence for the sunset review investigation no later than 3 months before the expiration date. The Turkish tariff code for the involved products is 5402.33. The announcement shall take effect from the date of issuance.

On December 4, 2007, Turkey initiated an anti-dumping investigation into polyester yarn originating from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. On December 31, 2008, Turkey made a final anti-dumping ruling on polyester yarn from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. On December 17, 2014, Turkey extended the anti-dumping measures on polyester yarn from China, Indonesia, and Malaysia for the first time, while terminating the anti-dumping measures on the involved products from Thailand.

On May 15, 2015, Turkey initiated an anti-dumping investigation into polyester yarn from Thailand and Vietnam. On November 12, 2016, Turkey made a final anti-dumping ruling on polyester yarn from Thailand and Vietnam and began imposing anti-dumping duties on the involved products from these two countries (see Announcement No. 2016/40).

On August 4, 2019, Turkey's Ministry of Trade issued Announcement No. 2019/24, initiating a sunset review investigation on polyester yarn originating from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. On February 3, 2021, the Ministry of Trade issued Announcement No. 2021/6, making an affirmative final ruling in the sunset review of anti-dumping on polyester yarn from these five countries, maintaining the anti-dumping duties on the involved products from the aforementioned countries. Among them, the anti-dumping duty for China ranges from 268 USD/ton to 351 USD/ton.
