According to China Cotton Association's investigation over 1969 growers across 10 major cotton belts in October 2025, national cotton harvesting entered the peak period in October: large-scale mechanical harvesting was launched in Xinjiang, with the harvesting progress faster than previous years and approaching completion by the end of the month. The selling price was slightly lower than last year; most cotton farmers accepted the price and sold their cotton at market-oriented rates. However, affected by factors such as rainy weather and rational purchasing by processing enterprises, the selling progress was slightly slower than the same period last year.

As of October 31, the cotton harvest progress in China reached 94.5%, up 2.6 percentage point year-on-year, and the sales progress hit 71.3%, down 6.1 percentage points year-on-year respectively. The monthly average sales prices were 6.1yuan/kg, down 2.6% year-on-year and 3% month-on-month.

In Xinjiang, the cotton harvest progress was 94.9% by October 31, up 3.1 percentage point year-on-year, and the sales progress hit 72.8%, down 6.7 percentage points year-on-year respectively. The monthly average sales prices were 6.1yuan/kg. down 2.8% year-on-year and 3.1% month-on-month.

In Yellow River Basin, as of October 31, the harvest progress was 80.7%, 16.6 percentage points slower year-on-year; The sales progress was 17%, 5.6 percentage points slower year-on-year; The average sales price was 7.1yuan/kg, up 3.8% year-on-year and down 0.5 month-on-month.

In Yangtze River Basin, as of October 31, the harvest progress reached 81.8%, 3.6 percentage points slower year-on-year; The sales progress stood at 48.5%, 0.6 percentage points slower year-on-year; The average sales price of seed cotton by farmers was 5.7 yuan/kg, down 11.2% year-on-year and 3.1% month-on-month.
