According to customs data, rayon yarn export of China hit a 37-month high of 17.846kt in Jun, a year-on-year increase of 76% and a month-on-month increase of 46%. Among this, the export volume of single yarn was 16.451kt, up 49% m-o-m and 82% y-o-y, and that of ply yarn was 1.395kt, up 13% m-o-m and 25% y-o-y. In H1 of 2025, the total exports increased by 24% y-o-y to 57.73kt, posting a bigger increment after a two-year decline.

In Jun, rayon yarn export to the five major countries (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Vietnam) amounted to 15.493kt, a m-o-m increase of 61% and y-o-y increase of 79%, taking up 87% of the total exports. The export to India soared by 114% m-o-m and 1,487% y-o-y to 9.789kt.

The main export regions for rayon yarn (Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Sichuan) saw an export volume of 17.079kt in Jun, a m-o-m increase of 49% and a year-on-year increase of 80%, taking up 94% of the total exports. Jiangsu is the biggest beneficiary of India's concentrated procurement, which has significantly alleviated the inventory pressure for some vortex-spun yarn mills that previously faced heavy stockpiles and also eased the pressure from excessive competition in Chinese vortex-spun yarn in the short term.

In Jun, the export volume of rayon yarn surged to a new high in 37 months. Although it is still some distance away from the historical peak, it is at a relatively high level. India's concentrated procurement has led to a substantial reduction in inventory for some Chinese vortex-spun yarn mills, so vortex-spun yarn has shown the best performance in terms of both volume and price among rayon yarns produced by various processes. However, most of these orders are scheduled until the end of Jul to early Aug, and exports are expected to be dull later.
