According to customs data, rayon yarn export of China was 11.81kt in Aug, a year-on-year increase of 53% but a month-on-month decrease of 21%. Among this, the export volume of single yarn was 9.934kt, down 28% m-o-m but up 54% y-o-y, and that of ply yarn was 1.876kt, up 55% m-o-m and 49% y-o-y. In Jan-Aug of 2025, the total exports increased by 34% y-o-y to 84.558kt.

In Aug, rayon yarn export to the five major countries (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Vietnam) amounted to 9.376kt, a m-o-m decrease of 28% but y-o-y increase of 79%, taking up 79% of the total exports. The export to India further dropped to 4.082kt, down 42% m-o-m but up 1,012% y-o-y. The procurement from India has been almost completed, and there has been no eye-catching performance in other areas.

The main export regions for rayon yarn (Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Sichuan) saw an export volume of 10.827kt in Aug, a m-o-m decrease of 25% but a year-on-year increase of 66%, taking up 92% of the total exports.

Although the export volume of rayon yarn in Aug still saw a significant y-o-y growth, it has dropped noticeably m-o-m. India's concentrated procurement period has basically ended. Currently, the price of vortex-spun yarn has risen significantly compared with that in May and Jun, which India can hardly accept. Other major export destinations also show no positive signs. It is expected that the export volume of rayon yarn will continue to decline later.
