China's retail sales of textiles and garments increase y-o-y in Aug, 2025

China's retail sales value of consumer goods totaled 3.97trillion Yuan in Aug 2025, up 3.4% year on year. In Jan-Aug 2025, the cumulative retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 3.24trillion Yuan, up 4.6% year on year.

In Aug 2025, the retail value of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size was 104.51 billion yuan, up 3.1% year on year. In Jan-Aug, the cumulative retail sales of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size totaled 940.04 billion yuan, up 2.9% year-on-year.

In Aug 2025, the retail value of apparel goods above designated size was 72.71 billion yuan, up 1.9% year-on-year. From January to August, the cumulative retail value of apparel was 670.83 billion yuan, up by 2.2% year-on-year.
